Dachshund Facts

Dachshund dogs, or known as "hot dog dogs" are a loyal companion and a good watchdog. These little dogs were bred 300 years ago in Germany. Their job was to hunt badgers. Their names actually mean "badger hound." Dachshunds actually come in 15 different colors. These colors include black with cream, black with tan, blue with cream, blue with tan, and chocolate with cream. These are just few of the many color options. They actually come in three different sizes also. Their is the mini, which is 11 pounds, the large Dachshund can actually be about to 32 pounds. They also have three different types of fur. They can have smooth haired, long haired and wire-haired. Dachshunds are known to have a long life spam. One, actually lived up to 21 years. However their life span is anywhere between 12 to 16 years. Dachshunds are known to eat a lot. So they need a lot of exercise to stay in good shape. Pit bulls have a troubled reputation. Being known to be viscous dog. However, if they are trained right and well then they can be the most lovable caring dog. They are very loyal companions to their owners. A lot of the times, Pit bulls end up in a shelter, up for adoption. These Pit bulls might not be full breeded Pit Bulls. For instance they might be mixed with multiple other breeds. Such as terriers and boxers. Pit Bulls actually come from England. They actually descended from the Old English Bull Dog. Old English bull dogs were actually crossed bred with terriers, making a Pit bull. Pit bull need a lots of socialization with other dogs. Some Pit Bulls are pron to not getting along well with other dogs. Depending on their personality some Pit Bulls love to play with other dogs, where others just prefer to play with their owners.

Beagle Facts

Beagles get along with adults and small children. Their noses guide them through their lives. As they like to hunt. They live anywhere between 10 to 15 years. Anywhere between 18 to 30 pounds. They don't bark a lot but they do have a very unique growl/howl.. They make this sound when they see sight of quarry. Beagles can get lonely if left in a house to long. So they need lots of attention and company. Beagles are not a good watch dog. Because they are usually friendly to everyone they meet.

The Black Lab Facts

The Black Lab comes from St John's Dog's of Newfoundland. Back labs were taken to Newfoundland by British fisherman. This was in the 1700 hundreds. Black Labs worked on icy northern waters. Back in the day some labs had longer coats and and more upright ears. Some black labs have a tiny white spot on their chest or under a paw. Black labs are the most popular color labs. This is because genetics say black labs are born yellow or chocolate. Labs have a great temperament. They are very lovable as they will never get sick of your company. Have you ever heard of The Black Dog at Martha's Vineyard? This is an example of a black lab. The store is very popular, as there is one in Faneuil Hall.

Toy Poodles

Toy Poodles come in many different colors. Including apricot, black, blue, brown, cafe-au-lait, cream, gray, red, silver, and white. They are very smart who listen to their owners commands. They are a sensitive dog who becomes a member of a family. They can understand their owners body language, and anticipate owners commands, somethings even acting before you speak. They are quick to back when seeing a stranger. Their life expectancy is usually between 12-15 years. Do you have allergies? Well good news the Toy-Poodle is Hypoallergenic, meaning he wont shed. However, their fur will never stop growing. The miniature toy-poodle stands 11 to 15 inches tall and weighs 5 to 10 pounds. The toy-poodle breed actually comes from Germany.
